1. Turn off all Power.
Unplug the power cord for your broadband modem.
Make sure that you have turned your computer off.
And DO NOT plug in the Motorola Phone Adaptor until instructed to do so.
   
2. Connect the WAN port.
Disconnect the Ethernet cable from the back of your computer or  router and then connect it into the WAN port on the Motorola Phone Adaptor.
   
3. Connect the PC port.
Connect one end of the Ethernet cable we provide into the PC port on the Motorola Phone Adaptor.
Connect the other end of this  Ethernet cable into the Ethernet port on your computer or router. .
   
4. Connect your telephone.
Connect a telephone to the LINE 1 port of the Motorola PhoneAdaptor using a standard phone line.

Power on your broadband  modem.
Wait approximately two minutes  for it to start up.
   
6. Power on your Phone Adapter
Plug the power cord into the POWER port on your Motorola Phone Adaptor, and then into an electrical outlet. This will turn your Motorola Phone Adaptor on. Keep this plugged in at all times for proper phone service.

7. VERY IMPORTANT STEP
Check that the POWER light on the Motorola Phone Adaptor is lit.
Wait at least five minutes while your Motorola Phone Adaptor starts    up.
There may be updates that need to be downloaded, such as new firmware or changes to your features. These will be downloaded automatically.
DO NOT interrupt this process by unplugging the power or lifting the receiver on your phone during the startup process.
Interruption of the startup may result in interruption of service.
When firmware updates are taking place, all the lights on the unit will be flashing.
   
8. Power up the computer.
Your Internet connection should work as it did before you installed    the Motorola Phone Adaptor.
   
10. Check your Phone
Pick up your telephone receiver and listen for a dial tone. If you hear a dial tone, you have finished the installation and can begin making calls.
